BOX OFFICE FORECAST

Nostalgia will play a factor in the success of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. The long-awaited sequel to the 1988 original is projected to make as much as $110 million in its debut.
The box office record for September is $123 million belonging to the horror flick, It, based on the Stephen King novel. Beetlejuice Beetlejuice might threaten that record, as it is booked in 4500 theaters — the most for any movie this year.
Last night’s preview screenings earned $12 million, which is only one-million less than what the movie It made in previews (Deadline)
Beetlejuice Beetlejuice reunites Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder and Catherine O’Hara plus newcomers Jenna Ortega with Justin Theroux, Monica Bellucci and Willem Dafoe.
Also opening around $5 million is the R-rated psychological horror flick, The Front Room, starring Brandy Norwood. (The Hollywood Reporter)
