Rihanna appears on the cover of Harper’s BAZAAR for an exclusive interview that took place before A$AP Rocky’s trial.
She spoke directly to those eager for new music. It’s been eight years since Rihanna released ANTI. She told the magazine album the next album (quote) “It has to matter. I have to show them it’s worth the wait. I cannot put up anything mediocre. After waiting eight years, you might as well just wait some more.”
Rihanna disputed reports she’s recording a reggae album (quote) “I can’t perform that for a year on tour.”
When the album drops, don’t expect to hear any top 10 hits, either. Rihanna predicted (quote) “I know it’s not going to be anything that anybody expects. It’s not going to be commercial or radio digestible. It’s going to be where my artistry deserves to be, right now.” (Harper’s Bazaar)
