KATY PERRY: Blue Origin Morning Space Launch
Written by Ariel Newbold on April 14, 2025
This morning, Katy Perry is scheduled to rocket into space on the next flight of Jeff Bezos‘s Blue Origin. The launch window opens at 9:30 eastern/6:30 pacific.
CBS and Paramount+ will provide coverage of the launch from west Texas. The rocket ship travels 62-miles above the earth and “returns gently under parachutes”. Roundtrip flight time is 11 minutes.
Katy Perry is part of an all-female crew along with CBS anchor Gayle King, aerospace engineer Aisha Bowe, civil rights activist Amanda Nguyen [pr: when] and film producer Kerianne Flynn.
Lauren Sanchez, who will marry Jeff Bezos in June, is the flight commander. She is packing a special payload that gathers data on acceleration, sound in decibels, air pressure and temperature. What’s collected will be shared with STEM students across the country. (Daily Mail)
Katy Perry tried to talk like a rocket scientist yesterday but sounded more like a space cadet. She said (quote) “I’ve always been interested in astrophysics, astronomy and astrology! And the stars. I think we’re all made of stardust.”
