Ayetian: Dancehall’s breakout story of the summer
Written by Ariel Newbold on July 27, 2026
Ayetian is a 21-year-old dancehall artist out of Montego Bay who blends his Haitian and Jamaican roots into his sound — a fresh voice in a genre often dominated by older, established names.
Billboard just named him its Caribbean Up-And-Comer of the Month for July 2026, on the strength of a string of 2025 smashes — “Tip,” “Balance,” and “Wah Yo Deh Pan” — that helped him rack up 22.9 million official on-demand U.S. streams last year. He’s now picked up seven nominations at the 2026 Caribbean Music Awards and just dropped a new, star-studded mixtape called “JamPack.”
This is a genuine new-generation dancehall star breaking through in real time, not a legacy artist trading on an old catalog — new music, not just throwback tea.
