The NHL’s newest team picked an unlikely musical artist to play opening night of their debut season.
Salt Lake City is home to the Utah Hockey Club. Tuesday night’s premiere game will get hyped outside the arena by Shaboozey, who’s breakthrough hit “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” was arguably the 2024 song of the summer.
This is Shaboozey – Best New Artist at the People’s Choice Country Awards — singing about booze in the heart of Mormon country at a game of hockey, where just 3% of the NHL players identify as non-white.
