DONALD GLOVER: Recovered From Stroke

One year ago, Donald Glover abruptly canceled a tour, which was meant to be a farewell to his rap persona, Childish Gambino.

This weekend, in Los Angeles, Glover explained that he quit the tour when doctors discovered that he’d suffered a stroke.

He told the crowd at the Camp Flog Gnaw Festival (quote) “I had a really bad pain in my head in Louisiana. I did the show anyway. When we went to Houston, I went to the hospital. The doctor was like, ‘You had a stroke.’ And the first thing I thought was, ‘Oh, here I am still copying Jamie Foxx.’”

Further tests when Donald Glover broke his foot uncovered a hole in his heart. He needed two surgeries to repair the damage. On Saturday, the 42-year-old got philosophical (quote) “Everybody has two lives. The second life starts when you realize you have one.” (The Hollywood Reporter)
