Could a Chappelle’s Show comeback be in the cards?

That’s what Dave Chappelle has been saying lately, floating the idea of a reboot or maybe a movie based on his fan favorite sketch show from the 2000s. The conversation picked up over the weekend, when Dave honored Eddie Murphy at the AFI Life Achievement Award ceremony.

During his remarks, Chappelle reflected on Murphy’s groundbreaking run at the top of comedy and how isolating that level of fame could be. He also shared a personal moment involving Murphy’s late brother, Charlie Murphy, recalling a conversation where Eddie encouraged him to revisit Chappelle’s Show and even joking that Eddie could step in to play Charlie’s roles.

The moment also comes as Chappelle has begun softening his stance on revisiting Chappelle’s Show, recently admitting he’s now open to the idea after years of firmly shutting it down.
