HOT 91.7 FM LIZZO: Children’s Book on the Way

Lizzo has something “Special” on the way — her first children’s book.
The singer sat down with Gayle King on CBS Mornings to spill all the deets about the book, which is based on her own childhood experiences. She said, “Everyone always asked me my origin story with the flute. They’re like, ‘Why flute, how flute?’ This tells the real-life story of how I started playing flute. This is such a beautiful marriage of everything that’s me.”
She went on to say she hopes kids find the story inspiring, explaining, “This is a story about finding your voice. And the only way to find your voice is by being yourself and trusting yourself. It doesn’t matter where you are, who you know. At the end of the day, it’s always going to be about you.”
Lil Lizzo Meets Sasha B. Flootin’ is named after the actual flute Lizzo has used for years, which carries the full name Sasha Beatrice Flootin’ Jefferson Kirkwood Johnson Esquire the III. The book will hit shelves on September 9th.
