No halftime performer can make everyone happy. Though some deserve to be near the bottom of the rankings.
TV Line listed their choice of the worst Super Bowl halftime shows. Three from recent memory:
The Black Eyed Peas at Super Bowl XLV (2011) “Fergie‘s mic wasn’t turned on for her first solo line. will.i.am clearly phoned it in and apl.de.ap and Taboo brought even less energy.”
Maroon 5 at Super Bowl LIII (2019) “A slowly disrobing Adam Levine, who didn’t know what to do with his body, and Travis Scott with no autotune.”
Janet Jackson at Super Bowl XXXVIII (2004) for “NippleGate”, Justin Timberlake escaping consequences and two cringe performers on the stage based on today’s knowledge: Kid Rock and Sean “Diddy” Combs.
