Foot Locker Brings Back the Iconic Air Jordan 5 ‘Grape’ on June 21

Foot Locker is reviving a classic with the return of the Air Jordan 5 ‘Grape,’ launching Friday, June 21. First released in 1990, the ‘Grape’ was a bold departure from the traditional Chicago-inspired colorways, featuring a white leather upper with vibrant Grape Ice and New Emerald accents. The look paid subtle tribute to Michael Jordan’s North Carolina roots and quickly became a pop culture icon.
The 2025 edition stays true to the original with a few modern updates. A sharper silhouette, reworked collar, and more slanted toe give it a sleeker profile that echoes Tinker Hatfield’s original design intent. This release also marks the first time Nike Air branding returns to the heel on a ‘Grape’ model, boosting the retro appeal.
Signature elements like translucent netting, icy outsole, and clear lace locks remain intact, along with special packaging inspired by the original 1990 box. Foot Locker is offering men’s sizes for $220 through online launch reservations, while Champs Sports will also carry the release. Grade school ($160), preschool ($100), and toddler ($75) sizes will be available at Foot Locker via online reservation.
The Air Jordan 5 ‘Grape’ returns June 21, offering sneakerheads a fresh take on a timeless design that helped define an era.
