50 Cent Drops Lawsuit After NYC Jeweler Issues Public Apology for Using His Image

Written by on May 15, 2025

50 Cent has officially dismissed a copyright infringement lawsuit against New York City jeweler Maksud Agadjani of TraxNYC—following a public apology over unauthorized use of the rapper’s name and image to promote counterfeit jewelry.

The dispute began last year after Agadjani showcased a knockoff version of one of 50 Cent’s iconic diamond-encrusted cross chains while holding up a photo of the rapper on Instagram. The imagery implied an affiliation or endorsement that never existed, prompting 50 to take legal action.

This week, Agadjani publicly apologized across all his social media platforms and even taped a printed version of the apology to the front window of his Manhattan storefront.

“I’m writing to express my sincere and heartfelt apology,” he stated, acknowledging that he had used 50 Cent’s “name, image, and other IP rights” to market and sell jewelry products without authorization.

Agadjani further clarified that he never had any official relationship with 50 Cent or permission to use the rapper’s likeness. In a clear gesture of remorse, he confirmed that all related content had been removed from his social media channels and promised to refrain from using 50’s name or likeness in the future.

“I respect your brand, and I deeply regret my poor judgment,” Agadjani said. “I take full responsibility for my actions and ask both you and your fans to forgive me.”

Following the apology, legal documents show that 50 Cent’s lawsuit was officially dismissed on Monday.
