LADY GAGA: Plot to Bomb 2 Million at Brazil Concert
Written by Ariel Newbold on May 5, 2025
Saturday night in Brazil, Lady Gaga performed a free concert for a record crowd. Estimates at Rio De Janeiro’s Copacabana Beach range between 2.1 and 2.5 million. At the end of her show, Gaga thanked the masses (quote) “Tonight, we’re making history. Thank you for making history with me.” (Rolling Stone)
Gaga learned only after the show that Brazilian police led by cyber intelligence squad thwarted a bomb plot. “Operation Fake Monsters” detected online recruitment of teens to bring explosive devices and Molotov cocktails to the concert. An inside source said (quote) “Gaga is absolutely devastated that anyone would try to harm her fans.” (The Hollywood Reporter)
Police arrested one teenager in Rio De Janeiro and the leader, who reportedly promoted to teens a “radical ideology, including the spread of hate crimes, self-harm and pedophilia.”
To ensure that Lady Gaga’s free concert went without a hitch, the military deployed 5200 soldiers to patrol Copacabana Beach. More than 200 knives were confiscated at security checkpoints. (Sky News, UK)
