DIDDY: Day 29 – Defense Confident

Written by on June 24, 2025

Prosecutors in the Sean “Diddy” Combs criminal trial will finally rest their case today.

Surprisingly, the defense has indicated that they will not call any witnesses to testify. They plan to enter as evidence a few exhibits that support Diddy’s plea of “not guilty.” A courtroom observer said of the risky strategy (quote) “It’s a flex but Diddy thinks he’s already won.”

His defense team is confident that the government did not prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Diddy trafficked sex workers and violated racketeering laws. A legal expert told Us Weekly (quote) “If these individuals were willing participants in Freak Offs, then we don’t have the elements of a crime.”

The courtroom schedule for the remainder of the week:

Today: Defense needs another hour to cross examine the final witness. Both sides will rest. Without the jury present, Judge Arun Subramanian will review the defense motions for acquittal of one or more charges against Diddy. This is a common maneuver when the defense holds out hope that the prosecution’s case was insufficient to prove guilt.

Wednesday: The attorney teams discuss with Judge Subramanian how the jury will be instructed to deliberate the charges against Diddy. The 12 jurors and alternates will not be in the courtroom for this conversation.

Thursday: Prosecutors and defense attorneys are expected to spend four hours each presenting their closing arguments to the jury.

Friday: The judge will give final instructions to the jury ahead of their deliberations. It’s doubtful that a verdict will be reached this week considering the length of this trial and the complicated case brought against Diddy. (ABC News)
