Ye Opens Up About Past Jealousy of Drake, Requests Him to Deliver His Eulogy
Written by Randy C on March 6, 2025
Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, has shifted his public views on Drake ye(t) again, pun intended. Get it? Views? The Chicago rapper turned fashion visionary mogul just made a surprising admission regarding his complex relationship with the 6God. He desired the Toronto icon to deliver his eulogy one day.
Yes, a eulogy.
In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), Ye reflected on his feelings of jealousy toward Drake, confessing that envy had fueled much of their past tension.
Sounds like the perfect time to play Drake’s Gimme a Hug from his album with PARTYNEXTDOOR, $ome $exy $ongs 4 U.
“I remember seeing a video of Drake showcasing his library of rhyme books, and I realized how much I let my jealousy take over,” Ye wrote. “I love Drake. And when I’m gone, I want him to speak at my funeral.” This moment of reflection comes after years of public back-and-forth between the two, marked by tensions that seemed to stem from competition and resentment.
Despite their past and Ye’s constantly shifting opinions, he has shown a softer side in recent months, acknowledging Drake’s musical talent. He even praised Drake’s collaboration with PARTYNEXTDOOR, calling the track “Gimme a Hug” “incredible,” and sharing his excitement over its success on Apple Music. The admiration continued with Ye sharing his thoughts on the ongoing rivalry between Drake and Kendrick Lamar. Ye admitted that he felt a sense of loss when Kendrick defeated Drake, joking about how his nemesis had been “taken down.”
What’s more, Ye rallied behind Drake, comparing him to basketball star Steph Curry, saying, “You can’t ever count out Steph Curry. That man might get 200 points in one song.” This comment was a clear departure from previous statements where Ye criticized Drake’s music and accused him of manipulating streaming numbers.
What ya’ll think? Will Ye stick to this side, or will he rage against Drake and call for his elimination as he did during the 20 v 1 beef last year? Let us know.
