Jamie Foxx made a triumphant return to the stage last weekend in Atlanta. He performed for the first time since last year’s mysterious health scare.
Gayle King attended all three nights that were recorded for a Netflix special. Her CBS cameras went backstage with Jamie Foxx. Gayle King posted to Instagram a few of their private moments together.
The one-man show entitled What Had Happened Was explores with humor and tears his near-death experience 18-months ago. Jamie Foxx told the story to an audience for the first time at these Atlanta shows. He said to Gayle King (quote) “Usually, when you do a stand-up special, you work it for a year, then you tape it. You don’t just show up in Atlanta and turn the camera on. It was an excruciating time, opening those wounds.” (Variety)
