Fyre Festival founder Billy McFarland claims the concert is still happening. However, a second city in Mexico says McFarland doesn’t have the permits. And not a single act has been announced for the weekend festival in eight weeks. Fyre Fest 2 tickets start at $1,400.
McFarland moved Fyre Fest to a town near Cancun after officials at his original choice of location said he never contacted them. Authorities in this second spot have “no records, plans, or conditions” for Fyre Fest to take place the first weekend in June. Organizers pledged to find a new third location.
Billy McFarland served time in prison for the bogus Fyre Fest in 2017 on charges of wire fraud. He bilked investors out of $26 million. (USA Today)
