A Minecraft Movie is Gen Z’s version of The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
Middle schoolers on spring break are participating with the movie. Kids are sharing videos on TikTok of what one parent called “sheer pandemonium.” Jumping out of their seats, throwing popcorn and dancing in the aisles when Jack Black shouts “Chicken Jockey.”
Movie theaters have tried to tamp down the boisterous activity. Many places will require this weekend that minors to be accompanied by an adult.
The theater turns into “sheer pandemonium” especially in the “Chicken Jockey” scene. Jason Momoa and Jack Black’s player character, “Steve” are together in a boxing ring. A baby zombie appears and sits on a chicken then charges toward Momoa. That’s when Jack Black shouts “chicken jockey” and the place goes wild. (NBC News)
