Busta Rhymes to Receive Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

Written by on July 29, 2025

Busta Rhymes will be honored with the 2,818th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame during a ceremony on Friday, August 1, at 11:30 a.m. PT at 6201 Hollywood Boulevard. The star will be awarded in the Recording category, celebrating Busta’s decades-long impact on hip-hop and global culture.

The event will be hosted by radio personality Big Boy, with guest speakers Chris Rock, LL Cool J, and Chuck D set to share remarks. Fans can tune in to the ceremony live at walkoffame.com.

Born in Brooklyn and raised in Long Island, Busta Rhymes rose to fame as part of Leaders of the New School before launching a solo career with his 1996 debut, The Coming. He went on to release classic hits such as “Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Could See,” “Break Ya Neck,” and “Touch It,” and has earned 12 Grammy nominations, over 60 million certified records, and the title of one of hip-hop’s greatest performers.

“The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce will be adding Busta Rhymes, one of Hip-Hop’s most enduring and electrifying voices, as a new member of Hollywood’s iconic sidewalk“ stated Ana Martinez, Producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame. ”His talent and influence are undeniable. His star on the Walk of Fame will stand as a testament to his lasting impact on hip-hop music and how important it is to the American culture,” added Martinez.

Beyond music, Busta has acted in films like Higher LearningShaft, and The Rugrats Movie, and appears this summer in The Naked Gun reboot. His 2023 album Blockbusta, executive produced by Pharrell Williams, Swizz Beatz, and Timbaland, was met with critical acclaim, followed by his 2024 Dragon Season EP series.

He has received the BET Lifetime Achievement Award, MTV’s Global Icon Award, and served as an ambassador for MusiCares, Global Citizen, and St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

The honor comes as Busta prepares to release his next album Vengeance, proving that after more than 30 years in the game, he remains a force across music, film, and philanthropy.

The Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony will mark another milestone in the legacy of an icon who continues to evolve and inspire.
